In summary, Lord Rostay was born in a time of relative peace on Aquila. His parents, Lord Holden and Lady Jenna were typical of the House, conservative politicians and complete financial failures. Stafford was sent to University on an Anderon loan, and achieved a brilliant First in Metallurgy, though it is hardly a popular subject in the Aquilan University, anyway.
He was married to a Windhaven, at a time when the Windhavens were desperate to marry off a daughter who had the unfortunate difficulties of infantile paralysis which permenantly affected the right side of her body. He ascended to Head of his House seven years later, when his father died in a suspicious hunting accident, while visiting the former Lord Windhaven at his country place.
Stafford Rostay has since occupied a place at the Cabinet Table, from which he offers his gruff, earthy wisdom, and his stalwart enthusiasm for "doin' the hon'rable thing." He does not enjoy immense popularity, since his taste for creature comforts has so escalated his House's debt, giving him the aspect of a fool rather than of a potential ally.
His wife died in 3490, of a cerebral hemorrhage, and the grief over losing her has left His Lordship a much-changed man. From the brash, self-assured young braggart he was to the bitter, cynical, lonely duffer he has become.

Lady Nellinora (Nellie) Rostay (now Lady Nellinora Acciaio)
Born:
Nellinora 'Nellie' Acciaio is the wife of Rugero Acciaio and the mother of
four children by him. She was born into House Rostay, the only daughter of
the current Lord Rostay. Her appearance is rather plain, especially when
compared to her beautiful sister-in-law Iolanthe. Yet she doesn't seem particularly troubled by this. As a former lady-in-waiting to Duchess
Lilly, Nellie is a frequent visitor at House Tremontaine when her duties
permit. She and her husband Rugero are known to go for rides in the
coutryside when their duties permit.
