History of the House

Demetreus, Lord Windhaven
Born: 3458

Demetreus, Lord Windhaven, is in himself a study in some of the best and worst qualities Aquilan nobility has to offer. Educated at University, with a First in Botany and in Early Earth Renaissance Art, Demetreus's intellect has never been questioned, and groomed from birth to fulfill a position of great power, his manners are quite beyond reproach. He has a light, self-deprecating humor, which has won him some regard in the Cabinet, though his occasional tendency to clown, or to rib his fellow Lords ("In good natured fun, of course .") has cost him some in the same area.

His niceties are not merely skin-deep, but nearly so. It is well-known across Aquila, though no one would dare talk about it, that Lord Demetreus is less than faithful to his wife, and there is rumor, too, that in a complicated confidence scheme he deliberately robbed her family of some thousands of stanners, though with no proof but rumors, there have been no charges filed.

His once-close association with Drostin Anderon also brings Lord Demetreus into a rather suspicious light, and though the nature of the contact, and even the duration are unclear, it is certain that some of Drostin's nastier activities must also extend to Lord Windhaven as co-conspirator, or at least as tacit accomplice.

It is unclear what caused the rift between Lord Demetreus and his two siblings, his younger brother Antioch, and his sister, Millaria, but both of them left House Windhaven not long ago, each in his own time; the former into Service in the Church, and the latter as a Lady-in-Waiting to the Duke's affianced, Lady Lilly Clover. There is some rumor on the subject, but again nothing confirmed - though if any one of the rumors should prove true, it would be another mark against His Lordship.

In all, Lord Demetreus Windhaven has the poise and apparent good-nature of a truly well-esteemed Lord of Aquila, yet he has been tainted with the pride and indolence, and with no small amount of the idle greed that often accompany that title as well.

Monsigneur Antioch Windhaven
Born: 3475

Antioch Windhaven is the youngest of the Windhaven heirs. He attended University, but was an unspectacular student of Aquilan History. Immediately his graduation, Antioch took leave of House Windhaven, and joined the clergy. The reason for this is unknown.

In time, he drew the attention of the Cardinal of Aquila, Demosthenes Maun, who took him to apprentice, and eventually made him his secretary. Antioch has served the Cardinal faithfully for just over a year now, but with every show of competence. (Except, of course, at the Cabinet meeting, for which he was ill-prepared).

Antioch is mostly an introverted, bookish type, whose athleticism (apparent in his physique) is due to a solitary regimen of running, and swimming. He has no political ambitions, or he should not have taken the cloth, and he very quickly grew appalled at the way his new employer salivated after power.

Nevertheless, as the years went by, he too became intrigued with the workings of power and moved into a high position in the Church on Aquila. Could he be the next Cardinal of Aquila?

Lady Millaria Windhaven
