The GM for The Enclaves - Mel
I'm Mel, and I'm British. I live in Oxford with my husband Greg
and our cats (currently two of them).
I've been a teacher (English, Film and Communication Studies),
and now work in Rural Regeneration.
I'm into cinema, theatre, good food, and travel. And reading -
a lot. I also have an abiding weakness for kitsch (although I usually
claim it as a postmodernist attitude to new culture).
I've been playing pbems for about three years now. I started out
with IRC-rp games, and moved into pbems. Oddly enough, I have never
played face-to-face.
As a GM, I tend to favour freeform - I am not keen on stats, and
very definitely not a rules freak! My strengths I see as plot and
character development - although you would probably have to ask
my players if they agree!
You can reach me at goldfired@oxmust.co.uk

I've been a GM on a game called Galactic
Renaissance (which was an off-shoot from the first big pbem
I played) since April 2000.
I also run a special Agatha Christie-style murder game each Christmas
called, with breath-taking originality, Murder
at Christmas. The first one was made into a web novel and
can be read here.
And the second one ... well, I'll get round to putting that up someday
soon.
My first Amber game was Ancient
Roots, Young Boughs - and I became an AGM there around March
2001. This game is really the new one from the same team ... with
different co-GMs running different areas.
In addition to co-GMing these two, I also play in a variety of
other highly enjoyable pbems - far too many to list here!

| Allen (player of Seth) |
|
| Allen Veazey is a microbiologist/medical technologist
who works and lives in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. He lives with Amy
(his fiancee') and Sophie (a very pampered cocker spaniel). Interests
are music (esp. guitar), writing, and gaming. |
| Aron (player of Simon) |
|
| Aron was born in the usual fashion, as opposed to accompanied
by omens, signs and portents, which would have been much more interesting.
He has lived in many places, and been privileged to call the finest
country in the world home, but now lives in the US. He would write
more about himself, but doesn't want to seem like the self-opinionated
tosser he is often accused of being. Instead, he is happy to have
people write or chat at him about virtually anything, and, unlike
Simon, he hardly ever bites. |

Francesca (player of Jenever)
I am a college student at Oregon State University with a major
in Theatre Arts. I am interested in music, dancing, and reading
- I will read anything, especially good fantasy/sci fi/mysteries.

| Heather (player pf Opal) |

I work in the computer game industry as a programmer, have done
so for several years. I've had the great good fortune to work on
title brands like Tetris, SimCity, and The Sims. I have two cats,
my partner Erik, and a nice house in the SF Bay Area. The rest is,
as they say, subject to change without notice.
I've been playing RPGs since I was 12. I still get out once a month
or so to indulge. I even created a hybrid game from the Star Wars
system that included the runic magic from Ultima Underworld and
elements from Dream Park. I ran a campaign using that system for
7 years. I'd post it, but it'd probably be at least one copyright
violation. : )
I'm currently addicted to the Amber Diceless RPG, based on the
Amber books of Roger Zelazny. I both play and run games in the Amber
Diceless Role Playing System.

| Katie (player of Tobias) |
|
 |
Mother of one, wife of one, she lives in the US, just outside of
its
Capitol. Gaming is her favorite hobby, with art and writing tied
for a close second.
Katie also runs the new Amber
Play by Email dot Net board.
|
| Rob (player of Lazarus) |
|
| Rob is from scenic Ohio River valley in West Virginia. He lives
with his daughter Anne, and their cat Squeaky.
He first started role playing in 1979 (Dungeons and Dragons), and
has never stopped. He has spent most of his face-to-face experience
as Game Master, and started to experience PBEM games back in the
day of local BBS message boards and 300 baud modems.
Rob has had limited success in running his own PBEM games... but
has been very lucky in choosing games to play in. He came to ANOA/Enclaves
through his contacts in the Ancient Roots Young Boughs game.
|
 |
|
In "real life", he puts in his 40 hours every week as
the Warehouse Manager of a local office equipment dealership.
Rob plays the character Lazarus, in ANOA/Enclaves.
|
| Tomus (player of Dot) |
 |
Tomus Cone has seen over half of the planet Earth in person, been
divorced, been re-married, been involved in Military Intelligence,
and is currently a student pursuing a course of study in "Mad
Science." He will be playing Dot Sullivan. |
| Theresa (payer of Nora) |
|
Theresa Thomas is usually at the end of her rope, raising
a teenage daughter and younger son in the middle of Oklahoma. Besides
her love of Amber, she is a strong proponent of the space program
and gay rights, an
avid reader of sci-fi and fantasy, writes sporadically on an erotic
horror novel and loves to play with Photoshop and web design. She
plays in way too many games by her own admission, is usually running
at least one, and owns and oversees the Shadows
of Amber Message Board, where she manages to let herself be
lured into even more games by evil temptresses like Mel and Katie. |
| Brian (player of Haakon |
|
| Brian Schoner is a computer programmer by day, a freelance
writer by night, and a bass guitarist on weekends. He and his two
cats live in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, and enjoys RPGs, almost all kinds
of music, and writing about himself in the third person. |
